Foundations of Mindfulness (live on Zoom)

Course Overview

This is a shorter, less demanding programme than MBSR for those who are seriously time poor, but wanting to undertake some serious mindfulness training. It is 5 weeks, 1.5 hours a week, with short practices and led by  Adele who is available to guide your journey in a hands on way.

The eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme and what it can open up in our lives is the gold standard in mindfulness training.  It is evidence-based and makes dedicated space and time for real growth. But we realise it doesn’t suit everyone to invest in this way, especially if you just want to dip your toe in.

Mindfulness is a term that is bandied around a lot. There are a lot of well-intentioned “mindfulness teachers” promoting their services with little or no training. Having a sub-optimal teacher can be at best a waste of time and at worse actually harmful and may put you off mindfulness for life. If you are interested in mindfulness you owe it to yourself to give yourself the best chance of success. MBSR teachers have rigorous and prolonged training so that they can help make this short five-week course a powerful doorway into the practice of mindfulness and how to embed it into your everyday life.

All of us struggle with something. Anxiety. Emotional eating. Smoking. Shopping. Self-judgement. Anger. Bad habits. Inability to switch off. Feeling overwhelmed. Whatever your struggle, change is possible. Some dedicated mindfulness training – coupled with the ideas that underpin the practice – can open up your self-knowledge and understanding and also give you the skills to help interrupt these not-so-helpful patterns. And therefore have the clarity to make better decisions. We hope this short five-week course will be a powerful doorway into the practice of mindfulness and how to embed it into your everyday life.

  • Interrupt your stress reactivity
  • Practice moments of calm and peace every day (even amidst the stress!)
  • Don’t believe everything you think about yourself or others
  • Feel more self-acceptance and curiosity
  • Experience more joy in everyday activities
