I am a certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and trained Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) teacher. I run 8-9 week MBSR courses & MSC courses regularly at Woonona medical practice on Saturday afternoons and at Russellvale Community Hall on a Tuesday.
These face to face courses not only teach mindfulness, meditation and self -compassion… they can increase the meaning and richness of daily life as well as building a wonderful sense of connection.
I also offer some online courses, including a 5-week Explain Pain course, an 8-week online MBSR for Pain programme and occasionally some Book Club courses.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss your suitability for any of the courses.
Courses
MBSR brings the principles of mindfulness meditation into everyday life by teaching specific skills and practices that can be incorporated into daily life to help break cycles of anxiety, stress, unhappiness and exhaustion.
The MBSR programme classes are conducted as weekly 2.5 hour sessions over 8-9 weeks. This includes a full retreat day as part of the program. Each participant receives an individual phone interview prior to the course, and ongoing individual support from your teacher.

The Pain Explained online course runs once or twice per year on a donation basis. The course runs on Tuesdays or Saturdays weekly over 5 weeks. Each 1.5 hour online session includes a 30-minute audio-visual, some optional exercises and reflections and group discussions. You will gain most out of the course by attending all sessions, however sessions are recorded for participants only.

MSC is an empirically-supported, 8-9 week training programme designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion, finally available in the Illawarra. The MSC programme classes are conducted as weekly 3 hour sessions over 8-9 weeks. This includes a half day retreat as part of the program.
Based on the ground-breaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care and understanding. It can be particularly helpful for health professionals and carers.
